Significant funding shortfall for Willetton Senior High School

What they promised

$96 million for a total rebuild of Willetton Senior High School

- 2013 State Election

What they say now

Between the 2012/13 and the 2016/17 financial years only $43 million has been provided

- 2013-14 State Budget

21 Aug 2013 - A promise was made during the state election to provide $96 million for the rebuild of Willetton SHS, however only $43 million has been provided over the 5 years from 2012 – 2017.

During the 2013 State Election the Barnett Government made an election promise to the Rossmoyne school community that $96 million would be provided for a rebuild of the Willetton SHS.

The commitment to rebuild Willetton SHS during the State election follows on from a commitment made in the 2012-13 State Budget where the Premier announced a $80 million rebuild of the school but only delivered $32.5 million of the announced funding.

This promise was reannounced in the 2103 election and more money was attached to it, an additional $16 million bringing the final commitment to $96 million.  However in the 2013-14 Budget only $43 million has been provided over the 5 years from 2012 – 2017. - Budget Paper 2, p279
